How does the free trial work?
Download the app and enter your email address in it. You then have 14 days of the full app: capture, correction, the plugin, everything. No card required.
What do I need to calibrate my studio monitors?
A measurement mic with a calibration file, a stand, an audio interface, and about fifteen quiet minutes. Any measurement mic works, and the guide covers the common ones.
Can I use it in an untreated room?
Yes. You can measure any room; the score tells you how far the measurement can be trusted, and anything but Redo needed makes a correction. Correction sits alongside acoustic treatment rather than in place of it: it fixes the tone you hear, not the reflections in the room.
Is room correction worth it?
When the measurement is good enough to trust, and the app tells you. It scores every measurement before it corrects anything and shows one of four words: Full, Tone, Limited or Redo needed. On Redo needed it greys out Continue rather than handing you a curve it cannot stand behind.
Do I have to use your microphone?
No. Any measurement mic with a calibration file works, and you import the file yourself. The guide covers the UMIK-1, UMIK-2, the Sonarworks mic, the EMM-6 and the ECM8000, and there is a path for a mic that is not on the list.
Does it correct phase or time alignment?
Version 1.0 corrects magnitude: the tonal balance of your speakers in your room and of your headphones. If the measurement finds your two speakers out of step, it offers to align their timing and polarity. It does not do phase correction, bass management or multi-subwoofer integration.
Is there a VST3 or AU plugin for my DAW?
The plugin is AU, VST3 and AAX, universal on Apple Silicon and Intel: Logic, Pro Tools, Ableton Live, Cubase, REAPER, Studio One.
Does it change my bounce or my export?
No. Bounce offline with the plugin loaded and the file is sample-for-sample identical to one bounced without it. The correction is on your monitors, never in the render.
Does it work on Windows?
No. Clearroom is macOS only: 12.3 and later on Apple Silicon, 10.15 and later on Intel.
How many Macs does one licence cover?
Two. You can free a seat at any time from the app on that Mac.
