Support.
One address, and a person on the other end.
Email support@clearroom.studio. Tell us the email address you bought with — that is what we look a licence up by. If you have your licence key, the last four characters are enough; never send us the whole key.
Most licence things you can do yourself from your account: see what you own, have your key emailed again, and report a Mac lost.
You have lost the email address you bought with
A sign-in link is the only way into an account, so an address you can no longer read is a licence you can no longer reach. That one we fix by hand.
Email us from whichever address you can use now, with your order number — it is on the receipt Polar sent when you paid, and Polar is the merchant of record for every Clearroom purchase. We verify the order with them, find the licence it created, and re-point it to your new address. Your key, your machines and your payment history all stay as they are.
If the receipt is gone too, send whatever you do have — the card's last four digits, the date, the amount. We would rather ask you for one more detail than leave you locked out of something you paid for.
A Mac was lost or stolen
You can free its seat yourself, and there is a 30-day clock and one thing worth knowing before you file. How reporting a lost Mac works.
If Clearroom ever shuts down
Clearroom checks in with our licence server about once a month. That check-in exists for rare things — freeing the seat of a stolen Mac, undoing a refunded or charged-back purchase — but it does mean a perpetual licence depends on a server that a one-person company runs. So here is what happens if that company stops.
If we ever retire the service, we publish a signed amnesty file at clearroom.studio/.well-known/clearroom-amnesty. It licenses every machine, it does not expire, and Clearroom picks it up on its own. You do not need us, or a card, or an account for it to work.
There is nothing published there today, and that is deliberate: the file is created only at a real shutdown, signed then with a live key, never made in advance and never left lying around where it could be leaked and used while the service is still running.
One carve-out, stated plainly: amnesty does not cover a machine carrying a refund, a chargeback or a reclaimed seat. A shutdown does not un-refund a refund.
